Automated 3-Chamber Social Behavior Box
The Automated Three-Chambered Social Behavior Box is a tool designed for behavioral researchers to monitor and analyze social interactions, preferences, and aversions in subjects, such as rodents. It allows movement tracking between three connected chambers using infrared sensors and features movable dividers for customizable setups. The system can track locomotion and interactions, including vertical movements with optional Z-axis sensors. The design includes magnetic panels for easy stimulus placement and cleaning. It integrates seamlessly with the SuperFlex Open Field System for enhanced tracking and is suitable for both mice and rats, providing detailed analysis of time spent in specific zones.
The Automated Three-Chambered Social Behavior Box offers researchers an advanced tool designed to monitor and analyze movement between three connected chambers, allowing researchers to quantify social interactions, preferences, or aversions in response to stimuli. This tool is ideal for behavioral researchers studying interaction patterns and social behavior.
Key features include movable central dividers for dynamic compartmentalization, and a customizable zone designer in the Fusion Software, allowing users to define specific zones, track entries, and monitor engagement with stimuli via movement tracking with an infrared beam array from an X-axis sensor pair. The end chambers feature embedded magnetic panels for quick detachment, easy cleaning, seamless stimulus placement, and secure reattachment between trials. The metal bars dividing the Primary Chamber from the Stimulus Boxes allow for more interaction between the subject and stimulus and are resistant to rodent chewing. Researchers can also integrate optional Z-axis sensor pairs to detect rearing behavior, offering additional insights into vertical interactions with stimuli alongside standard locomotor tracking.
This system is optimized for studies on social behavior and interaction, with a modular design to accommodate diverse experimental needs. Researchers with an existing SuperFlex Open Field System can reconfigure sensor pairs with minimal adjustments for compatibility with a Non-Automated Three-Chambered Social Behavior Box. This add-on option for the SuperFlex Open Field System allows Three-Chambered automated experimentation with complete X, Y, and Z-Axis tracking of the subject.
