It works in conjunction with the SuperFlex Open Field system, providing uniform lighting and sound attenuation, ideal for light- and sound-sensitive experiments. Lighting duration and intensity can be programmed, simulating day/night cycles. The stackable design saves space, with optional mobile bases for easy transport and cleaning. The ECC powers the open field setup with a single cord, and features a silent, user-controlled fan to manage airflow and temperature.

The Environmental Control Chamber is specifically designed to reduce external influences on experimental subjects, which diminishes environmental bias, and simultaneously maximizes user convenience and minimizes lab space footprint. Utilizing multiple ECCs in conjunction with the SuperFlex Open Field system provides identical centralized lighting to all test chambers, while negating distracting visual cues and attenuating sounds, making the chambers ideal for experimental protocols that are light and sound sensitive. Software programmable lighting duration and intensity (up to ~1000 lux) may be used to artificially create a day me environment (inverse light cycle), providing the ability to completely customize the lighting schedule for experiments.

Ideal for space utilization, the Environmental Control Chambers are stackable (up to 3 units high), and the mobile base op on allows for hassle-free transport, chamber repositioning, and cleaning of the surrounding area. The mobile base is designed to index the chambers with no possibility of displacement, making the option significantly more secure and space efficient than a cart, bench top, or shelving unit. An integrated slide-out tray allows for ease of access to the SuperFlex Open Field setup. This full-width sliding shelf precisely locates and secures the open field hardware beneath the diffused light source and likewise prevents any shifting of the hardware during handling. Each ECC likewise powers the open field unit contained within, reducing power management to one cord and switch. Any custom updates, or service, is remarkably simple since all electrical components (including the fan and lighting unit) are encompassed within a compact, easy to ship, removable module.
Air flow is mediated via a fan to alleviate elevated humidity levels. Fan speed is user definable, and fan status is monitored both in so&ware and via a front panel indicator.
